Description

Manor Farmhouse is a manor house that has been adapted into a farmhouse, dating from around 1636 and altered in the 1870s. It is built in the Artisan Mannerist style and constructed of red brick with a hipped slate roof featuring three stacks at the rear. The building is two stories high with a four-bay front, which includes a plinth, a first-floor band, and a flat band at the eaves.

The doorway is located to the left and is flanked by 17th-century moulded brick pilasters, which have moulded brick bases and plain capitals, topped with a pediment. The doorway features a 19th-century rectangular overlight and double partially glazed doors. To the left of the doorway is a long window, and to the right are two long windows, all from the 19th century, with flat heads and double glazing bar doors. Above, there are four windows; the one to the left is a plain sash with a segmental head from the 19th century. There is a smaller glazing bar sash above the doorway, followed by two more 19th-century glazing bar sashes with segmental heads.

The east return of the house has a flat band that rises over two pairs of blocked windows, one above the other, with a blocked 17th-century doorway to the right, which has been truncated due to the east wall being reduced in the 19th century. The doorway features a brick moulded pilaster with a bare and plain capital on the left, and a brick moulded pediment with the right corner cut off, while the right pilaster has also been removed. The house is situated on a moated site, with part of the moat still intact to the east.
