Description
The Old Rectory Home for the Elderly is a building dating from around 1870, originally serving as a rectory. It is constructed of stock brick and red brick, with some ashlar elements. The slate roof features stone-coped gables, decorative eaves, and has two ridge stacks, along with a single stack at the rear and a projecting stack at the front.
This two-storey building has a five-bay front, with a doorway located to the right. The doorway has a pointed overlight, a gabled ashlar hood mould, and a plank door. Flanking the doorway are narrow fixed lights with pointed heads and small gabled hood moulds. To the right of the door are two narrow plain sash windows, while to the left are two three-light plain sash windows, with a projecting stack beyond.
Above the doorway, there are two plain sashes with pointed heads and red brick decoration. To the right, a pair of narrow plain sashes is flanked by red brick crosses and a decorative motif above. Above this, there are three narrow plain sashes topped with a conical roof, and to the left, there are two two-light plain sashes.
