Description
The Manor House is a house built around 1820. It is constructed of yellow brick in Flemish bond, featuring ashlar and stucco dressings, and has a hipped slate roof with two brick wall stacks and one valley stack. The building is designed in an L-shape and has two storeys with a three-bay front. The eaves are overhanging and supported by paired brackets, with entasised angles at the main front.
The central entrance consists of a six-panelled door with a plain fanlight, set within a stucco surround that has panelled reveals. This is sheltered by a contemporary glazed porch adorned with stucco pilasters and a dentillated frieze beneath a flat lead roof. On either side of the entrance are single canted bay windows with glazing bars, also featuring pilasters and a dentillated frieze. The first floor has three glazing bar sash windows with Venetian shutters, each topped by slightly cambered brick arches.
Inside, the house boasts a geometric staircase with turned decorative balusters, a wreathed handrail, and a carved string. In the right-hand room, there is an original white marble fireplace with urns at the corners.
