Description
Greystones is a house dating from the 17th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of coursed ironstone rubble with ashlar quoins and red brick, topped with a concrete tiled roof that features a catslide at the rear, stone coped gables, kneelers, and a single 20th-century brick gable stack to the east, along with a spangle rendered ridge stack. The house is two storeys high and has a four-bay south front. The doorway is located to the east, sheltered by a 20th-century glass porch, and there is a single 20th-century casement window to the east, along with two casement windows with glazing bars to the west. On the upper floor, there are four windows: two casements to the east, a three-light casement to the west, and a single light window beyond. All windows feature wood lintels. The rear of the house includes a low late 18th-century brick wall with four casement windows that have segmental heads, ashlar quoins, and decorated eaves. The east return of the house has a datestone inscribed "Anno S Dom R.E. M.D.C.C. XVII."
