Description
Porters Lodge Farmhouse and Yard is a late 18th-century farmhouse and farmyard located on Morkery Lane in North Witham. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features pantile roofs with red brick gable stacks. It has a three-sided courtyard plan and is two storeys high with three bays, forming an L-shape. The central entrance consists of a planked door, with a two-light casement window to the left and a larger two-light casement window to the right, all set under timber lintels. The first floor has glazing bar casements located at the eaves. Attached to the left is a lower single-storey range that connects to a taller barn at right angles, which has a single planked door. Beyond this is a single-storey stable block featuring a planked doorway and open wagon sheds on the third side of the yard.
