Description
No. 62 on High Street is a late 18th-century building with alterations made in the late 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a slate roof. The building stands three stories tall and has two windows on the front, which are flat arched with brick detailing, including a keystone and wall ornamentation. The second floor has a three-light window set beneath a pediment, while the first floor showcases an oriel window that also has pediment ornamentation. A giant Ionic pilaster is present, and there is a modern shop front. To the left, there is a six-fielded door framed by a broken curved pediment that supports an obelisk. This building, along with The George Hotel and Nos. 62 to 70, forms a group of historic structures.
