Description
Brooklyn House with attached stables is a house dating from around 1825. It is built of red brick with painted stucco dressings and features a concrete tiled roof with stone coped gables, a wooden cornice, and gable stacks, one of which is truncated. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-bay front that includes broad stucco bands on the first and second floors.
To the right, there is a doorway with a semi-circular stucco head, raised key, and imposts, along with a fanlight and a panelled door. To the left of the doorway, there is a three-light plain sash window, and above it, two glazing bar sashes, all featuring stucco wedge lintels with keystones. A segmental headed dormer with a glazing bar casement is located above.
Attached to the right and set back is a brown brick stable block that has giant order corner pilasters. This stable block includes a large carriage archway with a basket arch, a voussoired lintel with continuous imposts, partially glazed plank doors, and an overlight.
