Description

No. 53 South Street is a cottage dating from the mid 18th century to the early 19th century, with some 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of colourwashed rendered brick and features a pantile roof with a single gable stack. The building is single storey with an attic and has a two-bay front. The doorway is located to the right and has a wooden lintel above a plank door. To the left, there is a two-light glazing bar sliding sash window, also with a wooden lintel. A 20th-century gabled dormer is present, which contains a 20th-century casement window.
