Description
2, 3, and 4 London Road is an early 19th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is constructed of brick. It features a Welsh slate roof with a cornice. Originally a public house, at the time of listing in autumn 1973, the building was noted to be in poor repair. It has four windows with segmental arches and keystones, and hung sashes with glazing bars. The left section has three windows and a brick band between the storeys, along with a rendered plinth. There are two doors: one at the corner and another facing the road, both with wooden surrounds and panelled doors.
The slightly later southern section, which was formerly occupied by a Co-op, has three windows with surrounds and cill tabs, also featuring hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor includes a 19th-century shop front and one window with a surround and cornice, as well as a doorway with pilasters and a cornice.
This building is part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 7 (consecutive), 7A, 8, 9, and 11 to 29 (consecutive).
