Description
Carrington House is an early 19th-century house located on the west side of New Bolingbroke Road in Carrington. It is constructed of red brick with some ashlar detailing and features a hipped slate roof with bracketed eaves. The house has two lateral red brick chimneys and corner pilaster strips, along with an ashlar plinth and a first-floor sill band.
The building is two storeys high and has three bays, with the central bay slightly projecting. The central doorway is framed by a panelled door and a decorative overlight, surrounded by a reveal and a reeded surround with paterae. An open porch supported by fluted Doric columns leads to the entrance, and the entablature above features triglyphs and guttae. On either side of the doorway are single 20th-century glazing bar sash windows, with three smaller similar sashes above, all having flush wedge brick lintels.
