Description

Cawkwell House is a house dating from circa 1825. It is constructed of stock brick with rendered and colourwashed dressings, and has a hipped slate roof with two ridge stacks featuring a moulded cornice and small ornate iron brackets. The building is two storeys and five bays wide, with a plinth and a first floor painted sill band. The central doorway has a porch with freestanding fluted columns, wall pilasters, a triglyph and guttae frieze, and an entablature. The doorway contains a fielded panel door with a fielded panel reveal and partial glazing. Flanking the doorway are two glazing bar sashes on each side, with five glazing bar sashes above. All windows have cambered wedge lintels.
