Description

The Rectory is a building constructed in 1852 by George Abbott. It is made of yellow brick with ashlar dressings and features a hipped Westmoreland slate roof along with two wall stacks. The building is two storeys high with a three-bay front that includes a plinth, pilasters, and a heavily moulded cornice. The central entrance consists of half-glazed double doors that are sheltered by a porch with a pediment and an outer basket arch, flanked by single glazing bar sash windows. On the first floor, there are three similar windows, all featuring slightly advanced brick surrounds, ashlar sills, and lintels, with the lower windows adorned with bracketed cornices.
