Description

Hawthorne Cottage and The Cottage is a cottage that has been converted into two dwellings. It dates from the 17th century and was altered in the 19th century. The building is constructed of mud and stud, with a whitewashed finish and a steeply hipped pantile roof, featuring a single ridge brick stack. It is a single storey plus garret structure with a six-bay front. The entrance is an off-centre planked door, which is covered by a gabled iron porch and flanked by single top-hung casement windows. To the right of the entrance, there is a small fixed glazing bar light and two plain casement windows, each with two lights. Access to The Cottage is from Church Lane.
