Description
Manor House is a house from the early 18th century that underwent extensive alterations around 1900. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond, with painted stone dressings, and features a plain tiled roof with raised stone coped gables and two gable stacks. The building is two stories high with attics and has a three-bay front. The central bay is slightly advanced and has a shaped gable added around 1900. There is a first-floor band and a dentillated wooden eaves cornice. The central entrance has a panelled door in a brick porch from around 1900, which has a 20th-century outer door. This entrance is flanked by rectangular bays with plain three-light windows, also from around 1900. On the first floor, there are three glazing bar sash windows under cambered brick heads with key blocks. Above the central window is a repositioned ashlar coat of arms dated 1639. The central bay also features a glazing bar sash window in the attic, flanked by two single two-light dormers with segmental pediments. The interior has been significantly altered but retains an early 18th-century staircase with three turned balusters on the tread, a wreathed handrail, and a carved cut string.
