Description
Ketsby Water Mill is a water mill built in 1864. It features yellow brick construction with a slate roof that has an overhanging verge and a narrow bargeboard. The mill is a single storey with a two-bay front, showcasing a pair of sliding glazing bar sashes on each floor. Between the upper sashes, there is a cast iron plate displaying a raised half moon, the initials TYD, and the date 1864. The left gable includes a pair of planked doors with a sliding sash window above, and all openings have brick segmental heads. On the right side, there is a cast iron breastshot water wheel that operates over the mill race. Inside, the original floors and planked partition remain intact. The first floor contains two grinding stones and hoppers, along with gearing and shafts connected to the water wheel. This mill is noted for being the last iron water wheel to turn in Lincolnshire.
