Description

The Massingberd Arms is a public house dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a shallow pitched hipped slate roof with deeply overhanging eaves and two brick wall stacks. The building is two stories high and has a four-bay front. The entrance is an off-center six-panel door with a plain fanlight, framed by a wood pilastered surround and a narrow hood. To the left of the door is one single light window, and to the right are two two-light plain casements, all with semi-circular heads and Y tracery. On the first floor, there are four similar windows with leaded upper lights.
