Description
Valley Farmhouse is an 18th-century house constructed of red brick, featuring a stone plinth, brick string courses, and eaves, topped with a plain tile roof. The building has a T-shaped plan and stands two storeys high, with a square brick ridge stack at the junction of the T. The front has mostly cambered brick lintels over the windows. The left side has a gable facing the road and includes a range of three windows: two 3-light casements and a blocked window on the ground floor, and two 1-light casements along with a 10/10 sash window above. On the left end, there is an outshut with a door, a 2-light casement above, and another in the attic. At the back, there is a small 19th-century range at the angle of the T, protruding to the left. The right end, facing the road, features a rebuilt crow-stepped gable, likely from the 19th century, with an end stack and a 4/4 sash window on the first floor, along with a casement above and below. To the right, in the trunk of the T, there is a low doorway with a 19th-century door and 2 and 3-light casements. Some 19th-century rebuilding has occurred in this range.
