Description

The Market Hall, built in 1857, is located to the rear of the Town Hall and was designed by Henry Isaac Stevens of Derby. The building features a cast iron interior and measures 14 bays in length, with the two outer bays serving as porches. The north entrance wall is made of wood, while the other walls are constructed of brick with interval piers. At the south end, there is a round arch that leads to the entrance, which has panelled double doors. The interior is 10 bays long, with each bay having a round arch across the center. The hall is aisled, with stalls located in the aisles behind the arcades.
