Description
The stables at Withcote Hall are a Grade II listed building, likely dating from the 18th century, although a turret that was removed was dated 1836. The structure is built from coursed ironstone rubble and features slate roofs. It is two storeys high and consists of five bays with slightly projecting outer gables. Each gable has a ground floor door with an architrave and keystone, along with a 2-light casement window above. The central section of the building has three wide segmental arches with stressed kneelers and keystones, flanked by a 2-light casement window with architrave and keystone on either side of the central arch. The former turret was located above this section. The outer gables serve as wings to the rear, each featuring a single door on the inner face and two wood casements above, with only the eastern windows remaining in their original openings with keystones. Additionally, there are three oculi in the outer wall at first floor level, and the end gables are also coped with ball finials.
