Description

The ice house, located to the northeast of Launde Abbey, is likely from the early 19th century and constructed of brick. It is built into a natural slope above a lake and features a roofless entrance passage facing west, along with outer retaining walls. The entrance has a segmentally arched opening leading to an earth-covered chamber, which has a high threshold that is now damaged. Inside, the chamber is egg-shaped with a domed cavity, measuring approximately 14 feet in diameter.
