Description

The Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century or early 17th century. It is constructed with a timber frame, featuring brick panel infilling and a thatched roof. The original dwelling consists of three wide bays and is one and a half storeys high. Each bay has one three-light casement window, and there are two three-light eyebrow dormers above. There is no visible sill beam. The structure is built using post and truss construction with arch bracing, and there is an arch braced middle rail in the left-hand bay only. The gable wall comprises two bays with a tie beam and a simple A framed truss above. The entrance is located at the rear in a small brick gable, which is adjoined by a taller wing built around 1950. The cottage features gable and axial stacks.
