Description

This is a pair of gate piers dating from around 1700, located approximately 70 meters north of the wind pump in Stockerston. They are constructed of ashlar stone and feature round moulded piers topped with semi-spherical caps. A short wall extends from the outer sides of the piers, which curve concavely downwards towards the outer ends. The piers stand about 2 meters high and the gateway they frame now leads to a field, although it likely served as a former entrance to Stockerston Hall.
