Description
This outbuilding, located about 30 meters southwest of Frisby House Farm, dates from the late 16th to 17th century and the 19th century. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone and red brick, topped with a roof of Swithland slate and plain tiles. The building is L-shaped and consists of one and one-and-a-half storeys, with the 19th-century one-storey section projecting forward on the left side.
The former cottage features a door and a blocked two-light stone mullion window to the right. At the rear, there is a similar blocked four-light window with a later opening above it. The stone wall continues to form the rear wall of the one-storey section, which has a blocked door. Inside the former cottage, there is a two-bay tie beam truss roof, featuring a reused beam and clasped principals. This building is the last unaltered fragment of the deserted medieval village of Frisby.
