Description

The gate piers to Skeffington Hall are an early 19th-century gateway featuring paired gate piers and a flanking wall. The inner gate piers are made of channelled limestone ashlar and topped with eagles. These piers are connected by a curving wall constructed of coursed rubble to the outer piers, which are also made of channelled ashlar. The outer piers have low pyramidal coping and an incised key decoration along the frieze.
