Description
The Sunday School House was originally built as a girls' school in 1834. It was later converted into a Sunday school and has since been modified to serve as a dwelling house. The building is one and a half storeys tall, constructed of brick with a Swithland slate roof and a gable on the left side. A central archway is located beneath the gable, featuring hoodmoulds above a pointed arched door and the windows, which are triple lancets set beneath flat lintels, although some of the lights are partially blocked. To the left, there is a late 19th-century extension that maintains similar architectural detailing, including gable windows with stone dressings and hoodmoulds, as well as decorative strapwork above the upper window, which is dated with the initials CJP over the doorway. To the right of the main facade, there is an additional bay added in the 20th century.
