Description
The Pigeoncote, located 100 meters north of Potters Marston Hall, dates from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of random granite rubble and brick, featuring brick dressings and a pyramidal Swithland slate roof. The structure has a rubble plinth and a brick ledge at the first stage. It is designed in two stages with a square plan.
On the east side, there is a low central door and a boarded-up window above it, both with segmental brick heads. To the south, there is a rectangular opening with a wooden frame and a splayed brick head, above which is a broken square opening. On the west side, there is another boarded-up window with a segmental head and a single diagonally set wooden mullion. The roof is capped by the remains of a square glover with a pyramidal slate roof. Inside, the structure features full height brick nest boxes and shelves, along with a cross beamed roof structure.
