Description
This is a mid-17th century house, with alterations from the 19th and 20th centuries. It is constructed of coursed squared coal measures sandstone with quoins. The roof is covered in Welsh and stone slates, with coped gables featuring moulded kneelers, and brick stacks on the ridge and gables. The house has a L-shaped plan.
The west elevation is two storeys and attics, with four bays. It features two pairs of 20th-century glazed doors, one set in a quoined surround and the other set in a later opening to the north. Between the doors are two two-light 20th-century leaded casements with transoms, set within the surrounds of former two-light chamfered mullioned windows. At first floor level, there are four similar windows in original surrounds. All openings have 20th-century timber shutters, and openings at both levels are beneath continuous dripmouldings. The rear elevations retain some 17th and 18th-century window surrounds, although the mullions have been removed.
