Description
The statue and fountain, located 40 metres southeast of Renishaw Hall in Eckington, is a garden feature listed as Grade II. It consists of an oval bowl made of Veronese marble, with a statue of Neptune positioned within a shell carriage that is drawn by two sea-horses, situated at the center of the rear section. The white marble statue stands on a shallow stem that is set on the rim of the bowl, and this stem includes mask spouts that emerge from three faces. The bowl itself has a moulded body, featuring a mask spout that connects the rim to the body, which is adorned with a cartouche.
