Description

The Royal Oak Inn, located on the east side of North End, was built in 1839 and is a late 17th-century structure. It is constructed from coursed stone rubble and features three storeys with three sash windows. The entrance has a plain recessed wood doorcase topped with a small 19th-century cornice hood, and there is a plain doorway on the left-hand side. The building is finished with corbelled eaves and a tiled roof. The Royal Oak Inn, along with Nos 2 to 12 (even), No 16, and No 18, forms a group of buildings of architectural significance.
