Description

Christchurch Vicarage is a large stone house built in 1857, designed by architect H J Stevens of Derby. It features a gabled facade facing Bridge Street, constructed from ashlar stone with a plinth and a steeply pitched slate roof. The building has two and a half storeys and includes three windows. A southern gabled dormer extends through the eaves, and the windows are fitted with mullions, with those on the ground floor also having transoms. The most notable feature is a first-floor oriel window with a panelled base, which is set under the gable and marks the end of the view from Long Row. An external stone chimney stack is located on the south side of the house.
