Description

Turn Pike Cottage is a former toll house located on the Derby to Chesterfield Turnpike, built in 1776. The building is constructed of coursed stone and features a stone slate roof. It is a single-storey house facing the road, with three windows, one of which is blank, and has iron casements. There is an off-centre gabled porch. A modern extension on the east side is not of interest. The cottage is noted on Burdett's Map of Derbyshire from 1791.
