Description

Brookside Cottage is a cottage dating from the late 16th century to the early 17th century. It is built of coursed rubble with angle quoins, featuring large stepped stones in the gables and coping. The roof is thatched. The cottage is 1½ storeys high and has a two-unit plan. The original doorway, which was located on the left side of the elevation, has been moved to the center. The windows have been renewed and are casement style. There is a single dormer above made of ashlar. Inside, the cottage has an inglenook with a firewindow and a carved spice cupboard in the left-hand gable. The right-hand room features a carved stone fireplace and a door that leads to Loddington Hall.
