Description
The pair of lodges, gate piers, and gates to Exton Park were built around 1850 in the Jacobethan style. They are constructed of ashlar stone and topped with a slate roof. Each lodge features one gabled bay and is two stories high, with mullion and transom windows that have hoodmoulds, as well as ornate shaped gables. Each lodge has a single-storey block on the outside, which has crow-stepped gables and contains a blank shield. The side entrances have four-centred arches with square hoodmoulds, and there are stone eaves, a cornice, and ornate gable end stacks.
Adjacent to the lodges are paired pedestrian gates set in four-centred arched openings with square hoodmoulds and a cornice above. The octagonal gate piers are capped with a cornice and feature iron deer. The wrought iron gates display shields, emblems, spearheads, and other decorative elements.
