Description
12 and 14 Mill Street are two cottages that were likely built in the late 18th century and are combined into one building. The structure is made of rubble, with the upper storey and roof repaired using red brick, and features a slate roof. It stands two storeys high and has four windows with flush frames. Number 12 includes two ground floor mid-17th century splayed bay windows that have five lights, moulded mullions, a cornice, and a slated pentice roof, which seem to have been added from an earlier building. Number 14 has modern three-light casement windows set under wooden lintels. Both cottages feature similar early 19th century doorcases with reeded surrounds, moulded cornices, and paterae, along with a blocked door to the right. Numbers 10 to 16 Mill Street form a group with these cottages.
