Description
Kilthorpe Grange is a late 17th-century house constructed of coursed rubble with ashlar dressings, notable for its roof of Collyweston stone slates to the front slope and plain tiles to the rear. The roof features coped gables and stone end stacks. The house is two storeys and attics, with a symmetrical three-window front. A central door is framed by a moulded architrave. 19th-century sash windows are set within moulded architraves, with the window to the left of the door featuring a keystone. A 19th-century rectangular bay window is located to the right of the door. Two 2-light hipped casement dormers are present in the roof. A low-gabled extension is attached to the left side, lacking windows, while a hipped-roof extension, the same height as the main block and one window wide, extends to the right, incorporating a ground floor door. Further outshuts and gabled two-storey extensions are located at the rear. The room on the left-hand side of the front of the house contains a substantial fireplace with a moulded bressummer, alongside several panelled doors, including a two-panel door with L-hinges.
