Description

The buildings at 1 and 5 Church Lane in Morcott are a pair of houses, originally three separate dwellings, likely dating back to the 17th century, with later alterations. They are constructed of coursed rubble, with a lower stone tiled roof to the left-hand section, and Welsh slate covering the remainder of the roof. The property is two storeys high, with the left-hand bay having an additional half-storey. A single three-light casement window with a chamfered timber lintel is visible on the ground floor of the left-hand bay, along with a coped gable and a brick stack. A modern porch partially obscures the ground floor of the right-hand bays, but it is evident that these originally comprised three single-unit houses. Beyond the porch, there is a two-light window, a further door set within a gabled wooden porch, and another window. Various casement windows are located above, all featuring flat timber lintels. A brick axial stack is present, along with paired stone stacks on the right-hand gable.
