Description

This is a terrace of eight houses, built in 1901 by the Nottingham architect Watson Fothergill for Mr Willatt. The houses are constructed of red brick with blue brick and ashlar dressings, and have a plain tile roof with four large ridge stacks. They are arranged over two storeys and originally had an eight-window range. The windows are mainly original sash windows. The front doors are half-glazed with overlights and outer frames, although one has been replaced. The front elevation is symmetrical, with the second and seventh bays being taller and topped with crowstepped gables. In the centre of the terrace, there are three pairs of doors enclosed within brick segmental arches, and two pairs of canted bay windows with hipped roofs. Flanking these are further pairs of original windows, and then single doors with ashlar lintels. The upper floors include eight original windows, one of which has been reglazed. Above these windows, in the gables, is a round-arched opening containing a pair of plain sashes. A band of blue brick diaper work runs below these upper windows.
