Description
The Bowling Green, located at 44 Oxford Street, is a building probably dating from the early 18th century. It features a stuccoed front with gently glazed tiles and a steep-pitched slate roof with gabled ends, supported by paired brackets at the eaves soffit. The building has two storeys; on the ground floor, there are three windows: a three-light casement with glazing bars, a fixed-light window with glazing bars, and a small multi-pane bay window with an entablature. The entrance has a moulded doorcase that is off centre. On the first floor, there are two three-light casements with glazing bars. Brick chimney stacks are located at both ends of the building. The interior has been significantly altered, and there is an addition at the rear.
