Description
Nos 6 and 8 Market Street are originally two premises dating from the early 19th century. The left side is constructed of brick with a slate hipped roof featuring wide eaves soffits. It has three storeys and three windows, with rubbed flat brick arches and sash windows that include glazing bars. There is a sill band above the first-floor windows. The right side is stuccoed and also has three storeys, but features only one window. It includes pilasters on the first and second floors, a cornice, and a panelled parapet. The first floor has semi-circular bowed sashes with glazing bars, accompanied by thin pilasters and a cornice, while the second floor has a three-light sash. The ground floor has been modernized with wood, featuring wide fluted pilasters and multi-pane bowed windows.
