Description
Nos 15 to 21 on St James Street, built around 1881, are a continuous range of Neo-classical architecture. The building is made of stone and has four storeys. It features a series of sash windows without glazing bars, set in moulded architraves with cornices supported by consoles. There is a continuous modillion cornice at the first and third floors, with pilasters extending over the first and second storeys. The moulded eaves cornice is topped with balustrading. Additionally, there are two doorways with mini-circular etched heads and inserted shop fronts. Nos 17 to 21 and No 25 are part of a group that includes Nos 2 to 40 on the Strand, which also features the entrance to the Strand Arcade.
