Description
This lock, built around 1838, is located approximately 150 meters northwest of Horbury Bridge on the north side of Horbury New Road. It features deeply coursed squared stone abutments that are rounded on the north side, blending into the banks of the River Calder. On the south side, the lock connects to a basin or lay-by, which is linked by a double bridge to the Calder and Hebble Navigation, Horbury Cut. The lock has a single pair of wooden gates.
