Description

The Parkinson Monument is a monumental slab located 4 metres south of the south chapel of the Church of St Peter and 1 metre west of the cross shaft in Felkirk. This early 18th-century monument commemorates Joseph, the son of William Parkinson, who died in 1724. It is made of sandstone and features a plain slab design, with the exception of the head, which is adorned with carved scrolls and twined flowers in the corners. The slab also includes a raised decorated initial letter "H" and a cursive inscription in serif capitals.
