Description
The bridge over Ings Beck, located on the east side of Denby Dale Road, is a 19th-century structure, specifically dated 1825. It features a low parapet made of coursed squared stone with a wide, rounded coping, although the railings are missing. In the center of the bridge, there is a milestone signed by surveyor J L Tyldesley, which indicates distances to Buckton, Stalybridge, Manchester, and two other now illegible locations. The bridge boasts a handsome segmental arch with cut voussoirs and a keystone that once supported the road at its original level. The west side of the bridge is not of special interest, as the arch has been built over and only the parapet remains.
