Description

The Jenkinson Monument, located 17 metres southwest of the porch of the Church of All Saints, is a monumental slab dating from around 1722. It commemorates Sarah, the wife of Christopher Jenkinson of Purston Jackling, who died in 1722. The monument is made of sandstone and features a rectangular shape with a broad border adorned with raised foliated patterns. The top has a round-arched head, which also displays a band of similar decoration, supported by stylised scrolled brackets. Winged angel heads are present in the spandrels, and there is a short inscription in seriffed lettering.
