Description
No. 10 Farrer Lane is a farmhouse that has been converted into a house, dating from the late 17th century and altered since. It is constructed of squared sandstone brought to courses, topped with a stone slate roof featuring a brick chimney. The building has a rectangular plan, likely consisting of three units, and stands two storeys tall with its gable facing the road. A continuous dripcourse runs around the entire structure.
On the west side, there is an altered or inserted window at the left end, a three-light window in the centre with its head and jambs visible, two small chamfered windows at the right end, and the remnants of three former mullioned windows at the first floor. The gable facing the road has two ground floor two-light windows, one of which is blocked, and a three-light chamfered mullioned window above, complete with a hoodmould. The gable is finished with 19th-century ridged coping, kneelers, and finials. The east side features later openings. The interior has not been inspected.
