Description
No. 4 Park Place is a house that has been converted into offices. It was built around 1785 and has undergone alterations in the 19th and 20th centuries. The building is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys high and features five windows. The central doorway is framed by a moulded architrave and has a rectangular overlight above it, topped with a pediment supported by consoles. The door is panelled. The windows are fitted with plate-glass sashes and are adorned with flat rubbed brick arches, as well as sills and a sill band on the ground and first floors. The eaves are bracketed. The building has been recently restored. This was the first plot in Park Place leased by the Wilson estate, contributing to the area's development as a location for houses and workshops for gentlemen merchants.
