Description
No. 89 Weetwood Lane is a lodge that has been converted into a house, likely built around 1902 by architect Thomas Winn for Joseph Pickering. The building features coursed gritstone and ashlar on the ground floor, with a timber-framed first floor and a red tile roof. It is two storeys high and has a layout of two bays by one bay, showcasing a Vernacular Revival style. Notable exterior elements include a gabled timber porch, a four-light square bay window, and a gabled dormer above the eaves. There is also a two-light square bay window and a projecting window beneath a half-hipped roof facing the road. A tall square chimney stack with four attached cylindrical moulded flues is positioned at the center of the ridge. The interior has not been inspected. Originally, this building served as a lodge for Bardon Hill, which is now St Urban's School.
