Description

Nos. 67 and 67A on Burley Street is a parsonage, now a solicitor's office, built around 1860 and restored in the 20th century. Designed by George Edmund Street, it showcases Gothic Revival style with dressed stone. The building has a steeply-pitched slated roof with coping on the gables and is situated on a corner site. It features two storeys, a basement, and an attic with an asymmetrical design. The east side has a gabled section on the left, a small gable off-center, and 4 to 5 bays, including a stone two-storeyed canted bay with a cusped light. The windows include one-, two-, and three-light stone mullion and transom windows with irregular placement. The north side facing Burley Road has two gables, while the west side features a pointed-arch doorway with an added glazed porch and a window beneath a lean-to roof on the left. There is also a three-light stone mullion and transom stair window with cusped lights and three dormer windows, along with inserted roof lights. A projecting stone chimney stack on the right has been rebuilt above roof level. The interior has not been inspected. St Andrew's Church has been demolished, and the vicarage was partially derelict in 1975.
