Description
Number 7 is a house that has been converted into offices, built in the early 19th century and altered in the 20th century. The building is rendered with a roof that is not visible, and it features wrought-iron railings. It stands three storeys over a basement and has five bays. The corners have long and short chamfered quoins. The central doorway is flanked by Ionic half-columns that support a deep frieze and a shallow pediment, with panelled doors and a rectangular fanlight above. The windows have moulded architraves throughout, with a battered design on the ground floor and shouldered designs on the upper floors. The ground-floor sills have paired brackets, and there is a continuous sill band on the upper floors, although the window frames have been replaced. The building has a blocking course with an eaves cornice. The interior has not been inspected. The attached railings are in a traceried style with closely set bars and barbed finials. Greek Street was being developed by Joseph Green of Bradford by 1817, and this house was built by 1831, according to Fowler's map.
