Description
This is a late 19th-century stone cross located approximately 10 meters south-west of All Souls' House in Leeds. It is designed in the style of a medieval preaching cross and stands about 6 meters high. The cross features an octagonal base made up of three moulded steps, a square plinth with a moulded lower stage, and traceried panels on the upper stage. The tapered shaft has moulded corners, a carved cornice, and an ogee-panelled stage topped with a floriate cross. It is situated at the focal point of the rear courtyard formed by the east end of the Church of All Souls, the principal rooms of the former vicarage (now All Souls' House), and the main school range (now Tennant Hall).
